Children are always busy in the Alexandra Playschool
The Alexandra Playschool
nurtures and educates the whole child, encourages parent involvement, and builds community. Our program is based on Waldorf Education philosophy.
Young children's senses are very acute, thus the Alexandra play space is beautiful, calming, warm and filled with materials that are stimulating to the touch. Our room is full of natural materials and beautiful colors.
We build on a child's natural drive to move and explore through play, because that is how he/she makes sense of his/her world and, develops language and social skills.
Children need security and predictability thus rhythm and routine are key to our program.
We use music and oral story telling to develop language and literacy. Children in our program thrive on the beauty of these two modes of learning.
Because community is an important part of growth and maturity, celebrations and family education on child development and values are important additions to our program.
